The Friday Edit
A weekly rundown of the people, places and things I've been loving recently.
A slightly smaller Edit today due the multi-holiday weekend: I’m guessing at least some of your plans are already made. If you’re looking for something low-key to do, here are the people, places and food that kept me going this week.
The cutest holiday treats at Pint Size Bakery
Pint Size Bakery has always been one to embrace the holidays — any holiday, really — with open arms. This weekend, they’re balancing two with ease. Head in early or preorder to make sure you get what you want, and you’ll be rewarded with some of my favorite treats of the year. The Lil King Cakes are spectacular if Mardi Gras is what you’re celebrating; if it’s V-day, the Cherry Poptart Hearts and Raspberry Tarts for Two are a must. I never leave without a Morning Muffin (a total sleeper) and a few slices of their silky quiche will make your day complete. If you need a pastry-based V-day gift, the shop will have a supply of Sweetheart Sampler boxes ready to go.
The most controversial seasonal at Pizzeria da Gloria
It’s come to my attention that one of the current seasonals on Pizzeria da Gloria’s menu is polarizing: I’m here to clear that up. The pizza in question? The Cantalupo, the seasonal I love with such heated passion I make special trips in for it. It’s Italian sausage against paper-thin orange slices that work brilliantly together. If that seems strange to you, think about how pepperoni pops with at little zing of lemon on it. Same deal here, and surrounded by mozzarella, basil, olive oil and pecorino romano. Get it while you can, because everyone’s favorite — The Clam — arrives next week as the Lenten special. Pair with the Arancello Spritz, which you can make lower-ABV by subbing NA prosecco. If you want something to snack on pre-pizza (you know you do), the roasted carrots on the menu are gorgeous.
A good night at Fordo’s Killer Pizza x Urban Chestnut Brewery & Bierhall
Urban Chestnut in the Grove is one of the easiest places to hang for lunch or dinner: those oversized tables are surprisingly comfy, and the space, although large, never feels cavernous. Having a Fordo’s Pizza there makes it an even bigger draw, because lingering over pizza and beer > lingering over beer alone. Last weekend we watched the Super Bowl over a New York Neapolitan (tomato sauce, mozzarella, fontina, parmesan, sicilian oregano, olive oil), a big Caesar salad and the special that night, the Aglio burger, which makes a cameo on the menu every so often, so you’ll need to watch for it on Instagram. Pair with your favorite UCBC brews; like Fordo’s, there’s plenty of options to love.
Snacks and drinks at Good Company
I ducked into Good Company this week for work: specifically, to photograph a few NA cocktails friend and GC bartender Jiana West was working on using the new Saint Heck! line of spirit-free amari. I got more than I bargained for in the form of Matt Frentzel, former Big Mouth Sandwich Co. owner who’s currently on the back-of-house team at GC, who surprised me with the onion rings I’ve been thinking about all week. All the food is done well at Good Company, and the snacks are exceptional: head in and treat yourself to a few cocktails and some sharables. Other favorites on that side of the menu include the marinated olives and roasted cauliflower, or grab the Brussels sprout Caesar or beet salad to share as you sip.
Fox & Hound’s Antiques’ reopening in Webster Groves
Owners Kelly Layton and Dan Hobbs have moved their mega-popular antique shop from downtown Kirkwood to Old Webster, just up the road from Telva at the Ridge and next door to Sushi Station. The bi-level shop gives the team space to spread out their eclectic finds for easier shopping. Fox & Hound’s just reopened this week, so head in to watch the team fine-tune the space. Follow them on Instagram as they settle in, and watch for more information about plans for expanded offerings at the shop in the future.
Bonus things you could do:
Coffeestamp is spending Valentine’s Day celebrating love their way: one hundred percent of sales on Saturday, Feb. 14 will be donated to The MICA Project and Migrantes Unidos, two organizations doing an amazing job supporting immigrant communities. Read more about Coffeestamp and how much they’re loved in return right here.
Coffeestamp celebrates five years with big plans
Coffeestamp celebrated five years at its Fox Park location in August 2025, but brothers Patrick and Spencer Clapp began working on their dream long before opening their doors on the neighborhood.
Switchgrass Spirits released a new bottle last week, and it’s a standout. The new member of the family is a double-cask straight rye whiskey finished in Noboleis Vinyards’ Port wine barrels, and the burgundy colored beauty is smooth as silk. Hunt it down and see for yourself: follow the team on Instagram to find out where they’ll be sampling the goods next, or sign up for a Saturday distillery tour, where you’ll get a behind the scenes look (and taste) at how Switchgrass’s lineup comes to life.
I wouldn’t mind if you made my blood orange french toast with rosemary cream, either. Just saying.
Sneak Peek | Next Week
Another blood orange recipe, this time in the form of a salad that hits all the right winter cravings but still manages to be healthy. Also on tap is the return of Art of the Playlist, a chat with the good people behind La Chaussette natural wine fest, and another Friday Edit.
xoxo, S

Always such great info. I didn't know Matt was no longer with Big Mouth. I will definitely be hunting down that Switchgrass bottle. And I'm an absolute slut for a clam pizza so thanks for the heads up on that!
